Robert Law has encouraged me to do a “series”. It’s hard for me, my mind while channeled with some things is not one to set itself to singular photographic purpose. Being “trapped” on the Acela from the return from a few days in New York City solved that. To pass the boredom, the thought came to shoot out of my window and this is what happened. I am quite pleased with many of these images and I hope you enjoy them. There are a fair amount of them, but I kept finding good ones and from satisfaction I post them for Robert in particular.
It was fun to look forward from the path of the train to seek colors and scenes that would create interesting lines. I put my camera on my camera bag and stabilized it from holding the lens hood against the window. Most of the images were shot at 1/8th of a second, some a little slower some a little faster. My Leica is not a very quick camera so it tested translating a vision into an image. I used a 28mm Elmarit, a good lens for this set of images. How odd. From a lark came a series of images with a common theme that I am truly proud of.
This series turned out to be a very worthwhile endeavor. Like paintings from the road. Great.
Thanks JB! A good way to pass the time. The ride on the Acela is “smooth” and that helped.
really nice “series” Louis, I like them very much!
