Project 365, In the style of Nils Karlson

Here is Nils’ email reply.  Images are posted with corresponding reference number.  Congratulations to all who received recognition from Nils, especially to @etienne.

Hi Louis,

Thanks for the nudge – I needed that!

So just a couple of hours before I head off to Berlin for Analogue Now Photo Weekend, here’s my choice:

It’s been a tough call, but image No. 27 conveys most of the quietness I love – lots of space, soft, muted colors, low contrast…this really feels like a meditation! Honorable mentions for image no.11 (love the landscape, which moves like the sea, and the round frame doesn’t hurt either!), image no. 24 (a breath of fresh air, bathing in light), and image no. 22 (a lovely triptych when the sun released the softness of dawn).

Overall I must say, there were some outstanding works, which didn’t fit the theme as well as others, but still noteworthy: no. 1, 8, 18, 21, 22, 28.

I am very excited about this project, as it gave me the opportunity to see myself through the eyes of other people I don’t even know, and it feels so good I recognize pieces of me in every image. This was a wonderful experience, and I’d like to thank everyone who participated for giving me more insight about myself, and inspiration for future series. It’s been an honor for me!

To prevent confusion about the names, here are the ten images (with according numbers) mentioned in the text =)

35mm Film Shootist

Hi I'm Martin Smith, a amateur photographer that likes to shoot solely film. I use black & white with the odd colour image thrown in and mainly use a Leica M4-2 with Summicron 35mm and 50mm lenses. I tend to shoot anything I like, objects, scenes, landscape or street life.
