Using the Leica M8 for long exposures at night is not in the camera’s lane. I shot this hand-held at a high ISO. Given the absence of a mirror and from experience, I can shoot rangefinders at pretty low shutter speeds….1/15th of a second is my usual limit. This image was a muddle of dappling and gnarly noise. The M8 was Leica digital in its infancy. I ran it through Topaz DeNoise, a remarkable program, and was able to salvage the image. While I usually leave the M8 colors alone, I edited this one to personal taste starting with an Adobe preset and going from there. Not great, but the foggy night at least yielded one image worth a wee bit.

In its lane, the M8 is a great camera. The colors it produces form the CCD sensor are nothing short of filmically spectacular. I snapped this image of a mural near my office while stopped in my car.
