THE $2,870 DIVIDE

These images were shot using a Leica M10. The M10 has been a constant companion for many years. Forget about the technical details. Not for me. The only edit aside from whatever happens on import to Lightroom was to unify white balance in the images. Both lenses were shot wide open. I am a great admirer of M42 Takumar lenses.

Pentax Takumar M42, 35mm F 3. 5 Kipon T2 adapter. A $50 lens and an $80 adapter.

There is no rangefinder coupling with this adapter so I did my best with live view which is not my cup of tea. I forgot how to imlement focus peaking (never use it), probably my ineptitude. I should have used the distance scale on the lens.

Leica 35 MM Summilux F 1.4. A $3,000 lens. Focus through the viewfinder.
