leapfrogging spring, and the wonder of modern cameras

Once again, New England has leapfrogged spring and landed on summer. This has been a pattern lately. Our spring seasons have been abnormally cold. Spring showers in the cold impart a deep chill to the bones.

Modern cameras have advanced to the point of turning photography on its head. The shot of the shop window was taken with the OM1 Mark II and Panasonic 45mm F 1.7 lens, hand held at 1/6th of a second at F8, ISO 80. Without in-camera stabilization getting this shot was not possible.

While I don’t expect the micro four thirds system will continue warding off the rabid competition, the system continues to delight. My OM system body has immense capability in a compact package. The lenses are small, light and very good. A few weeks ago, I struggled with the weight of a DSLR kit and several long lenses, making me appreciate the micro four thirds system all the more.
