For the second time this week I found an amusing sign. Thursday, there was a sign saying “Fuck Cars, Ride a Bike”. The “featured image” was found in the Sakonnet Point fishing port near the outdoor portable shite house. The handwritten alert warning relief au naturale would be filmed gave me a chuckle. It tempted me to let one rip. I resisted the urge.
I recently gushed about the ease of DSLR scanning. It is not the perfect solution. Keeping the film flat in the holder is a problem. The second is marrying the plane of the camera’s sensor to the plane of the film, leading to uneven sharpness.
The Fujifilm GA 645 is a nice camera. It is an AF box, hence easy to use. It has a sharp lens that snaps into focus. I don’t know if I missed focus on the flower image. The lack of center sharpness could be from film flatness issues. The camera meters perfectly. The negatives looked beautiful, but the scanning process yielded inconsistent results. I will re-scan these images using my Epson scanner. Perhaps the results will be better. These DSLR scans came out pretty sharp.
