While this is a humble image, I am pleased with the beautiful results from the Hasselblad 80mm lens on the 500 CM. This image was made using Lomo 800 film. The sharpness and preservation of highlights from the lens and film is a joy for me to behold. I have a much anticipated trip planned for June as a meetup with fellow members of the Film Shooters Collective. I am agonizing over what cameras to bring, something that is always a struggle for me. Do I go with autofocus cameras for assurance of getting good shots, or do I use manual focus cameras? One factor is my eyesight is not what it once was and focusing especially with a rangefinder can be hit and miss. Focusing with the Hasselblad is not an issue for me using the magnifier in the focusing hood. Frankly, I adore this camera system. The only downside is the weight of a lens kit if I bring multiple lenses. The 80mm lens is likely what I would use for 90% of my shots, so I am leaning towards bringing this kit. How do you approach important film-centric photography trips in terms of gear choices? I am interested to get input from others.
