My Leica M3

I have owned this beautiful camera for a long time. We share the common “birth” year – 1957, making it especially important to me. I will never part with my M3. I can make quality images with any camera. But this one has a special “something”. It is sexy! Its heft is just right, making it melt into my hands. The viewfinder is gorgeous and bright. There are no frame lines for a 35mm lens but I compensate by shooting to the edge of the finder. As I sat at the workbench while Youxin Ye serviced my M6, Youxin remarked my M3’s viewfinder had delamination. It is not discernable. My M3 is unobtrusive yet stately. The click of the shutter is precise and certain. Loading film is a breeze, and with one advance I get 38 or 39 shots out of a roll. This camera gives me joy. I have a roll of FP4 loaded with a yellow filter mounted and will post the results in the coming days. These images demonstrate contrasting ends of the photography spectrum since they were shot using an Iphone.
