These pictures were taken at Horseneck Beach in Westport, Massachusetts today. It is different from many other beaches I walk from not having many rock formations offshore or onshore. This beach is all about the beautiful dunes. The renowned Harry Callahan took many pictures here, but his were more centered on the plant life and the sand formations and shapes. During his time, the beach was simpler, and the new facilities including the beautiful pergola did not exist. Another frequent subject of Mr. Callahans was downtown Providence and the neighborhoods, especially Fox Hill near my office. I enjoy going to Horseneck in the winter. I photographed a windsurfer prepping his gear onshore on a lucky day. One can no longer walk among the dunes as Mr. Callahan did since they are fenced off protectively.
