I took this same picture back when I first started photography, shooting a Nikon D40. The older one was better, there were distinct reflections in the water. But that one did not have the Egret to adorn it. Another day, another picture. I used a nifty filter kit made specifically for the Fuji X100, made by Niki. The filters are an inch X 2 inch rectangles and there is a small filter holder that screws onto the front of the lens. I think I just used the polarizer here and it led to some shifting in the color of the blues perhaps from the angle of the light…..I love the Fuji X100 (this one the V model) and will never part with it. I have shot many hundreds of images with it and its earlier iterations over the years.
I know Fujifilm make some great cameras (I have a soft spot for their old Finepix digitals) but I do think the D40 is still a fantastic small camera.
I agree on the D40. It will always have a special place for me, being my first digital camera. The X100V is my most used camera. It is small, light and has a retro feel with easy access to shooting controls. The filters used here are the size of a sugar packet!
