More Scans, Hasselblad, FP4, Film Lab Software

I share more scanning experience for other film aficionados. After black frame errors in Silverfast I sought support correspondence with Lasersoft. The recommendation is to remove and reinstall the program which is easier said than done. The program is not interacting well with MacOS. Frustrated, I scanned the images using a Nikon D500 and a 60 mm macro lens, shot in RAW. The scans were imported to FilmLab. Wiith a click to “process as black and white negative” the results are pleasing. This gallery was made after small tweaking of exposure, blacks and whites in Lightroom. I am impressed by the FilmLab conversion program. It is highly recommended. Lightroom’s AI feature is perfect for removing dust spots. What process are you using to scan your film?

These images were shot with my Hasselblad 500 CM and the wonderful and versatile 80 mm lens. Metering was performed with a Sekonic spot meter. For metering, I take a reading on middle grey and work from there based on instinct and scene characteristics. My work with the Hasselblad is “rusty” from a lack of use. I hope to burnish my skills with this fantastic camera in coming days.
